When Hope Seems Lost

“But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

I heard a story on the news recently about a young man who was devastated when he had to relinquish his new born daughter to authorities in Utah. His girlfriend had given birth to a healthy baby girl and he had spent every waking moment with the child. His girlfriend’s parents were pressuring her to relinquish the child for adoption to some friends of theirs. However, the biological father of the child wanted to keep her very badly and had lots of family and friend support. Unknown to him, the mother had signed the adoption papers and the child by Utah law, was now no longer his. As many of you know, I am very much for adoption, but in cases like this, I’m appalled that the father did not have any rights to the child.  I truly am praying for him and his family as they take on the legal system in Utah. Fathers have rights too, and I hope that this case will not be swept under the rug.

Lord, I pray for this young man and his family. Taking on the court system can seem like a David and Goliath moment, but with You all things are possible. I also pray for the little girl. I hope one day she learns about how much her daddy loved her. Please give them hope Father and help them find a way through this.” Amen

God will right all wrongs.

The Ice-Diamond Lady,
